Create ingress object
kubectl apply -f ng-ingress.yaml
apiVersion: networking.k8s.io/v1
kind: Ingress
metadata:
name: bookinfo-ingress
spec:
ingressClassName: nginx # use only with k8s version >= 1.18.0
tls:
rules:
- host: bookinfo.example.com
http:
paths:
- path: /
pathType: Prefix
backend:
service:
name: productpage
port:
number: 9080
At this point, you can check the ingress setup and noticed that "host" has the value "bookinfo.example.com" that tied/linked to a service called productpage.
If you do not see this, check the ingress controller logs to see if we can get any clue what's not working.
Then run the following command to test your setup. Your request will be forwarded to the book service.
curl -HHost:bookinfo.example.com "http://localhost" -v
